UK taxpayers' funding 'torture and executions' as
government secretly sends millions to foreign courts
By Jack Hardy
” British taxpayers are funding foreign courts
where hundreds have been condemned to death under draconian laws that consider
throwing shoes to be a terror offence, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.
Millions of pounds of public cash has been pumped
into secretive Government funds and is then used to pay for criminal justice
systems infamous for executions and wrongful convictions or where basic
freedoms are under threat, including Pakistan and
Somaliland.”………………. ~Read More ……The Sun Telegraph~
Since British cash ( tax payers money ) started
arriving Somaliland in 2011, a string of
specialist anti-terror courts have sentenced an estimated 1000 people some of
them to death including horn of Africa Muslim scholar Sheikh Adan Abdirahman
Warsame aka Sheikh Aden Sunne حفظه الله ورعاه who is sick and
serving now long jail sentence , according our information.
The courts have also been the scene of many
questionable convictions such as poet Bashe and teacher Abdilkadir each
sentenced eight years of hard labour prison and $ 625.000 six hundred and
twenty five Dollar fine their crime is offending a head of state on Facebook by
calling Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi nickname Muse Shani .
More British taxpayer money is being spent in the
East African state of Somaliland, where £2.4 million has been earmarked to
reform the courts.
Official documents speak of increasing the
“effectiveness and accountability” of judges and prosecutors while improving
court services - but nothing about halting swelling numbers of prosecutions
against bloggers, poets , Muslim scholars and journalists.
Mohamed Kayse Mohamud was said to have been jailed
for 18 months for offending a head of state on Facebook by saying he was “a
local, not national, president”.
Human Rights Watch and Amnesty international said
" the prosecutions criminalized disagreements with key state policies and
were evidence of “a dangerous attack on
free expression”.
The money spend on RRU ( Rapid Response Unit -
anti -terror unit used for civilian harassment ) should receive robust scrutiny
to ensure all spend represents value for money for UK taxpayers and are in line
with our foreign policy objectives ..
