URGENT ACTION / AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL Freemuse.org Poet Abdirahman Abees who happens also to be British citizen is arrested in Hargeisa without warrant by judge or due process. The main reason of poet Abdirahman Abees arrest was he organized a poetry evening at hotel Mansoor Hargeisa as theme “Try and imagine the future of Somaliland and its police force ". Mr. Abees introduced two poems speaking about socio-politics of Somaliland and how the country is heading towards wrong direction ending with a note of sincere unsolicited advice to Somaliland government. During his presentation Mr. Abees made also a short intro where he explained police brutality, corruption in the police corps and extrajudicial detentions also there in the end he made suggestions how to improve the situation.
